Healthcare & Biopharma Advisor · Physician-Scientist · Translational Medicine
Clinical judgment, translational research, and molecular medicine expertise brought to healthcare and biopharma decisions where evidence quality, study logic, and scientific restraint matter.
View ProfileDr. Reiss advises PrimeStata’s healthcare and biopharma work through expertise in internal medicine, translational research, clinical evidence, and molecular mechanisms of disease. Her perspective helps PrimeStata approach life-sciences questions with stronger scientific judgment, clearer study logic, and appropriate caution around evidence, ethics, and implementation.
She participates in PrimeStata’s expert network as an advisor rather than in an operating or executive role.

Dr. Reiss earned her BS in Biology from Brooklyn College and her MD from SUNY Downstate.
She completed Internal Medicine residency training through UMDNJ/Rutgers and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
She completed an NIH physician-scientist traineeship in molecular and cell biology, grounding a career that spans internal medicine, education, molecular biology, and translational research.
Independently of PrimeStata, Dr. Reiss serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Foundations of Medicine and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine. She is an internal medicine physician, educator, physician-scientist, and molecular biologist with more than 25 years of research experience studying immune system effects on the brain and heart. These academic appointments are separate from her advisory relationship with PrimeStata and do not imply institutional affiliation or endorsement.
Her academic work includes serving as course director for the Basic and Translational Research Elective for medical students and mentoring undergraduates, medical students, nurses, and house staff across cardiology, rheumatology, immunology, endocrinology, and neurology-related research.
Her research includes Alzheimer’s disease, neurodegeneration, traumatic brain injury, cognition, and the biological pathways that shape how brain health is measured and interpreted.
She has studied inflammation, atherosclerosis, lipid metabolism, nutrition, and cardiometabolic risk, including accelerated atherosclerosis in lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes.
Her perspective is especially valuable when healthcare and biopharma work requires stronger study design, clearer evidence interpretation, and more disciplined links between mechanism, measurement, and implementation.
Her work as an educator and mentor strengthens the ability to communicate complex medical and scientific questions clearly across multidisciplinary audiences.
Within PrimeStata, Dr. Reiss strengthens healthcare and biopharma work by bringing clinical judgment, translational research experience, and disease-mechanism expertise to questions involving evidence quality, study design, measurement, interpretation, and real-world implementation.
That perspective is especially useful when engagements require disciplined translation between mechanism, measurement, and commercial decision-making.
Her research areas include Alzheimer’s disease, inflammation, atherosclerosis, neurodegeneration, lipid metabolism, traumatic brain injury, cognition, nutrition, immune system effects on the brain and heart, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and cardiometabolic risk.
